Deeply

school2

Yesterday morning I must have struck an odd sight, mesmerised, car door half open in front of the local boulangerie. I was listening to this on the Today Programme.

Fifty years to the day since the Aberafan disaster, John Humphrey’s report was one of the most moving I have ever heard. Just the idea from one morning to the next of losing all your playmates, or worse to have to play elsewhere to spare others’ parents the pain of seeing that you had survived.

Just terrible.

Hankerchiefs at the ready; for all the right reasons.
